Guide Dogs Qld
For more than 50 years, Guide Dogs Queensland (GDQ) has been helping people who are blind or vision impaired to become more independent and mobile through a range of tailored services and programs including its life-changing Guide Dogs. Each costs $30,000 to breed, train and place with no aid from Government but is offered free-of-charge to people in need throughcommunity support.
Figures reveal an Australian loses part or all of their sight every 65 minutes. A Guide Dog provides its handler with the confidence to move around an ever-changing landscape with ease, assessing and avoiding obstacles in an instant. It takes close to two years to develop a playful pup into a responsible Guide Dog, and the resources and funding of both the public and Guide Dogs Queensland.
Beric , Sue & Rebecca from ‘Pets Rest In Peace & Toowoomba’s Pet & Equine Crematorium’ are passionate about supporting the work of GDQ which is the only service provider of its kind with an office & Crematorium in Toowoomba. Its local base has become a regional hub for Guide Dog and mobility services throughout south-west Queensland, and we encourage our valued clients to join us in makinga modest gift to this worthy and much needed organisation servicing our area.
All funds raised will go toward the care and maintenance of Guide Dog brood ‘Pippi’ and Guide Dog-in-training (PR) ‘Ivy’ (pictured below) that live here in Toowoomba.
Pets Rest In Peace & Toowoomba’s Pet & Equine Crematorium will make a small donation for every pet cremation service conducted by our firm, for ‘Ivy’ & ‘Pippi’ in Toowoomba. We encourage you to join with us in supporting GDQ by making a donation in memory of your pet. Be sure to select “ Pets Rest In Peace” at the question: “How did you hear about us ?” on GDQ’s donation form to keep it local.
